The Blues knows thing, we just have to listen to it.
The story of this song is told in its name ‘Blues knows’
Martis went to the studio one day to record a piece in twelve bar blues. At the end of the song the lead guitar made a final excite on a particular note. It was this finishing line that caught Martins attention and inspired the creation of this song. The original twelve bar blues sits unfinished at the beginning of the session with ‘Blues knows’ taking off with the last notes and grooving away into the ‘after thought‘ of the blues. A story of music leading its creator to unexpected places and the creator, in some ways being the student of the music itself. Martis is of the impression that the blues he went to record was the mentor for the song that came with it; Blues knows.
A funk lounge piece, with an energetic flute and built up brass section.
We celebrate the equinox on the 23rd of this month. A moment of balance between light and dark and a time to reflect symbiosis and symmetry of versatile aspects. To remember that there is only one circle and that that circle is a harmony of dynamics. 'Blues knows' is a perfect piece to remind us to simply groove along and dance as much as possible on the way.
